As we head toward the happiest day of the year,
Cheryl and I find ourselves looking past the GREEN HOLIDAY to Memorial Day
Weekend. Cole and Marcy will be tying
the knot down in Port Aransas, TX. We
will be staying on the beach, sharing a house with Chad, Hayden, Zachary and
Tommy. Several other members of the
SMITH and FINCANNON clans will be joining us, too. We will host the crowd the night before at
our house. Marcy’s mom and dad have
also rented a house, and will host the wedding reception. The wedding ceremony will be held in a
small chapel nearby. Look for pics in
June on the web. Only our son, Tommy, has had much radically
change in his life since this time last year.
His new duty station is IMF Bangor on Naval Base Kitsap. Unfortunately, he is now hundreds of miles
away from his daughter, Macey, who remains in San Diego. For the rest of us, we are a year older, perhaps
a bit wiser, but our day-to-day lives remain the same. We stay busy, enjoy a chance to be with
family and friends, and miss those who are far away. |
